TLM System Components
to order list
The TLM packaging machines are constructed of TLM system components, which are highly flexible mechatronic miracles. You can only understand TLM machines if you are acquainted with the most important units.

The TLM-F2 Robot

The TLM-F2 Robot

There are currently many thousands of them in use; they originate from the legendary SNC-F2 robot from 1984.Controlled by two servomotors, the TLM-F2 can carry out any movements in a two-dimensional working field of 1.2 x 0.8 m. Boxes are erected, filled and closed with the TLM-F2 robot. The hand of the robot is designed as a tool exchanger which has all of the devices necessary to control tools. The robot arm can be accelerated with 2G and reach speeds of up to 3 m/sec. Its load-bearing capacity is 40 kg.

The TLM-F3 Robot

The TLM-F3 Robot

Developed specifically for removing packaging materials from magazines, in the most efficient way. After a few parameters have been entered, it independently peels a box blank from the stack. The load-bearing capacity of the robot arm is 20 kg. A pneumatic clamping device at the wrist ensures the exact placement of the suction or gripper tool. The TLM-F3 robot is occasionally used for diverse functions within other machine prosesses.

The TLM-F4 Robot

The TLM-F4 Robot

A four-axle pick and place robot which in co-operation with the TLM Vision System picks products from a continuously running product belt and groups them in a box, tray or transmodule. If two F4 robots work in a machine frame with a control and Vision System, it is referred to as a TLM-F44 pickerstation. The TLM-F4 arm can accelerate with 15 G, reaches a speed of 5 m/sec in doing so and only produces a noise level of 70 dB. TLM-F44 robots can work together as a team and mutually pursue the objective of guaranteeing packages which have been filled completely

The TLM Vision System

The TLM Vision System

Due to the wide ranges of products in picker lines, it works together with the TLM scanner which was specifically developed for packaging tasks. Scanners are built at 200 mm steps up a length of 1,800 mm. There are transmitted light scanners which record a shadow image of the products and reflected light scanners which look at the products. Reflected light scanners are also offered in a 3D design to evaluate height information. The TLM Vision System can evaluate up to 4,000 products per minute while carrying out an individual quality check.

The TLM Transmodul

The TLM Transmodul

The world‘s first transport robot. The power supply is inductive. Thus the Transmodul can move freely. Data and signals are transmitted wirelessly. So that boxes and products are held during transport, the Transmodul is equipped with a vacuum blower which generates a vacuum of 0.1 bar. The maximum acceleration is 0.5 G. In doing so, speeds of 4,5 m/sec are reached. The Transmodul moves on a rail system which leads through all of the sub-machines. Redundancy was successfully integrated in the packaging machines for the first time with the Transmodul. The failure of a Transmodul does not affect the availability of the machine. Transport tools are exchanged for a size change. A maximum of 32 Transmodules can move on a rail section.

The TLM Operator Guidance

The TLM Operator Guidance

The master computer of a TLM packaging line. It has the construction plans of the machine, knows all its spare parts, and can give information about all its components at any given time. The entire operating manual is available, as are the maintenance instructions and repair manuals. It is the interface between man and machine. There are two operating buttons for switching on and off. Several operator guidance systems can be installed in one TLM machine

The TLM Machine Frame

The TLM Machine Frame

Welded from sheet-metal parts, it creates the torsionally rigid machine cell for picking up all the components. The control is located in the upper section behind electric swivel-up cabinet doors. Large safety doors provide good access to all the functions of the machines. Operating elements are located in the hinges, while modern LED lamps signal the operating mode of the individual submachines. TLM machine frames are available in 40 different dimensions. They are lacquered or manufactured from stainless steel plate according to the customer‘s requirements.
